About the Performers
Janae Burris: Janae Burris is a comedian, actor, and event host in Denver, Co. She is a South Central Los Angeles native and a CalArts alumna. Her favorite moments in standup comedy include performing to a crowd of 10,000 at Red Rocks Amphitheater, being on the road with Josh Blue, and being the first woman of color to be promoted to the Comedy Works Pros list.
Janae has been featured at Portland’s Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Limestone Comedy Festival in Bloomington Ind, Telluride Blues Fest, and High Plains Comedy Festival in Denver as well as headlining at Ha Ha Harvest in Portland. JokeChella in Fort Collins and Aspen Laugh Fest. Janae is 2019 Just For Laughs New Face. She has showcased at NACA West, Midwest, and Central.
Along with fellow Denver Comedians Adam Cayton-Holland and Andrew Orvedahl (who collectively perform as The Grawlix), Ben created, wrote, and starred in TruTV’s original scripted comedy series Those Who Can’t, which now has all three seasons available for streaming on HBOMax.
Mitch Jones: Stand-up comedian, podcaster, aspiring voice actor, and avid pop culture enthusiast: Mitch Jones has been doing stand-up comedy since 2010 but he's been clownin' since day one. You may have seen Mitch on the High Plains Comedy Festival, in the commentary booth for Lucha Libre & Laughs, co-hosting the Broadcast Geeks podcast, performing all across Colorado, or as part of the No Country For Stoned Men Comedy Tour.
Bree Kalhorn: Bree Kalhorn has been performing comedy since August 2021. Clever but accessible, Bree’s comedy addresses a variety of topics and has been known to strike a chord with audiences from bar shows to colleges. Her unconventional show at Blackstone Theater, "Fight!" has been met with enthusiasm from both comedians and audiences. She has also gained a reputation in the roast battle circuit for concise, brutal quips, and has won multiple tournaments in the process. Bree is active on social media and growing her TikTok as long as that's still legal.
Quinn Thierfelder: After her 5-minute comedy performance at her high school resulted in a permanent school-wide standup ban, Quinn knew she was a big fish in a small (uptight) pond. After graduating from school in May, Quinn packed her bags and moved to Los Angeles to pursue her passion for comedy in a more appropriate and exciting environment. She spent 5 months studying with Groundlings, UCB, and using her fake ID to perform at various 21+ comedy clubs in Los Angeles. In June, she drove from LA to NYC and performed standup in a different city every night along the way. In the fall, she will be attending Duke University where she plans to study English.
David Louis: Known for his acerbic wit and endearing vulnerability, David Louis is a regular club performer at the Laughing Tap, the Improv, Zanies, Comedy on State, and Skyline Comedy Club. Milwaukee Magazine has included him in their "Best of" issue and he has been selected to perform in comedy festivals across the United States as well as New York City's prestigious Comedians You Should Know showcase. Winner of Madison’s funniest comic competition at the renowned Comedy Club on State. David has worked with Micheal Ian Black at the historic Turner Hall Theater as well as Matt Braunger, Stewart Huff, Moses Storm, and Shane Torres.
Andrew Scalia: Andrew Scalia is originally from a small town in Louisiana, but now is a stand-up comedian based in Denver, Colorado. Andrew turns his trauma into triumph by poking fun at his conservative family, embarrassing memories from high school, and all that gay shit his dad doesn’t want to talk about. His comedy style can be described as relatable because everyone’s a little gay sometimes.
Deborah Lastowka: Hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Deborah Lastowka has awkwardly emerged onto Denver's comedy scene, performing for resident cats, other comics waiting to go up, and people who did not even know a comedy show was happening. She runs a bi-weekly comedy showcase at First Draft Taproom + Kitchen that gets really sweaty on a good night.
